KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It was announced today that senior guard Matthew Eason (East Hartford, Conn.) has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2016-2017 Honors Court. This award marks Eason's second consecutive NABC Honors Court distinction.
To be eligible for this award, the NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA student-athlete must earn a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA and be at least a junior or higher in academic standing.
Eason, a Juvenile Justice and Youth Advocacy major, finished his collegiate career as a member of one of the most successful men's basketball campaigns in the history of Wheelock College. During his senior season, he started all 27 games for the Wildcats, averaging 34.6 minutes per game. Eason averaged 7.5 points per game and collected a total of 75 rebounds. Matt pulled in 2.8 rebounds per game and posted a pair of assists per outing.
