WORCESTER, Mass. - In their regular season finale, the Wheelock College men's tennis team traveled to Becker College for a New England Collegiate Conference matchup.
The Wildcats got off to a strong start as first doubles partners senior Matt Brown (Angola, Ind.) and sophomore Arvin Hedayaty (Tarzana, Calif.) took a 5-0 lead before the home side retired to earn Wheelock the first point of the match. Still, Becker won the other two doubles matches to take a 2-1 edge into singles play.
In singles action, Brown was able to add a second win to his evening as he defeated his opponent at the second singles position in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. Unfortunately, the Wildcats lost the remaining five matches as they fell 7-2.
Wheelock will return to action on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. when they will compete in the NECC semifinals as the #4 seed.
